Craftie Cafe - You're My Super Hero (Video)

Hi everyone, today I'm back for Craftie Café and today I have a Father’s Day card to share with you all. I’m going to be using non-traditional Father’s Day products to create this card today, since the sentiments in this set are so fitting. I’m using the Taylored Expressions “My Super Hero” set along with the Pinhole Star Stacklets and Downtown Border dies.

To begin my card today I first started off with stamping, colouring and die cutting my the boy super hero, from the My Super Hero stamp set. I’m using Copic Markers today and only colouring one image, so it’s super fast. Once my image was ready I worked on my other elements for my card.

I first used the Downtown Border with some black cardstock and die cut that out, then took a piece of watercolour cardstock and Mustard Seed Distress Ink and ink blended the colour onto the side of the piece. I then used the Downtown Border Underlay die and die cut that out of the yellow piece. Now when you layer the two together, you get the yellow background peeking through all the holes in the windows. Next up I used the same cardstock and yellow Distress Ink and ink blended on the piece once again and then die cut the largest star from the Pinhole Star Stacklets dies out of it.

I pulled out some Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink out and ink blended a full background onto another piece of watercolour cardstock, I flicked on some white spray mist when I was done and heat set it with my heat tool. I then added foam tape onto the back of my Downtown Border piece and adhered it to the bottom of my background. I then used flat adhesive and adhered down my star also. I then added foam tape behind the super hero, and adhered him down over my star.

For my sentiment, I took a piece of navy cardstock and white heat embossed the ‘You’re My Super Hero’ sentiment on there. I then used the Blueprint 27 Dies from My Favorite Things and cut down my piece into a banner. I adhered it onto my card with more foam tape. To finish up I adhered my entire piece onto a piece of black cardstock and then onto a white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired.

Lawn Fawn - Two Way Galaxy Backgrounds (Video)

Hi everyone! Today I'm up on the Lawn Fawn YouTube Channel featuring a space themed card with two ways to make a galaxy background using Lawn Fawn inks

I tried out two ways to do a galaxy background - watercolour and ink blending. I ended up liking the ink blended background better - but it's personal preference and honestly, they both look like a galaxy equally, I think I was just more drawn to the finished look of the ink blending. I love stretching my supplies in this way. It just goes to show you don't need fancy watercolours or Distress Inks to get an amazing look!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my video and technique.

See you soon!

Lawn Fawn Guest Designer - Ahoy Matey Slider Pop Up Box (Video)

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be here today, I got to guest design for Lawn Fawn! Eeee, I am so so so very excited to do this for Lawn Fawn today, they are one of my top favourite companies of all time and doing a video for them is such an honour!

For my card I used the Ahoy Matey Stamp Set along with the Scalloped Box Card Pop Up Die to create a super fun birthday card and also, I added in a sneaky slider boat in there too, just to amp up the fun a little! I also made a variation where I added a gift card at the back using the Simple Gift Card Slot Dies also.

Here is the card I made for them and the video is linked down below!

Thank you so so much to Kelly and the team at Lawn Fawn for allowing me to guest design for you! It was an honour. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today everyone and I'll see you soon!

PS. I've just finished moving, and will be back to posting videos and whatnot soon.

Craftie Cafe - Reach for the Stars (Video)

Hi everyone, today I'm here for Craftie Cafe and I’m making a good luck type of card, using the WPlus9 Little Dreamers stamp set along with the Stardust stamp set. Even though this set looks to be illustrated towards baby themed cards – but the sentiments included in both sets really push the limits with the stamp set and can be used for so many occasions.

To start off my card I took the stars from the Stardust stamp set and I repeatedly stamped all over the background until it was covered. I then used clear embossing powder coat the stars and heat set the background. Once my background was done I pulled out my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolour set and began colouring my galaxy background. I first did two layers of yellow, pink and purple – heat drying in between layers to get the depth and then once I was happy with the vibrancy I went over with a blue and then a black to achieve the full galaxy look. I heat set it once again and then splattered white and shimmer paint to resemble stars. I dried it off again and then used the Starry Skies dies from Lawn Fawn to cut out some stars out of opposite corners of the panel.

Once my panel was complete I set it aside and could colour my images. I stamped out all my images from the Little Dreamers stamp set onto some Neenah White Cardstock and coloured them in with Copic Markers. Once they were all coloured I die cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Now that everything was ready to go, I added some white cardstock behind my water coloured panel to be able to peak through the die cut stars and then I added foam tape behind the entire panel and adhered it onto a black cardbase. I then used more foam tape to adhere down all my images onto the background. I’m not sure if the galaxy and clouds go together well, but I do like how it turned out, haha! Next up I white heat embossed a sentiment ‘Reach for the Stars’ onto a strip of black cardstock and then adhered it to the card with foam also.

To completely finish up my card I took some Multi Medium Matte and Sparkling Clear Stars from Pretty Pink Posh and adhered them randomly over the background and that finished up my card.

--------------------------------------------------------

So for my card today I used the new Summer Friends stamp set to create an ocean scene along with the Scallop Rectangles Dies and Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

To begin my card today I first stamped and coloured my images from Summer Friends with Copic Markers. I made sure I used bright colours to help set the scene for summer. Once they were coloured, I die cut them out using the coordinating dies. While I had my die cutting machine out, I also die cut a Scalloped Rectangle Frame out of white cardstock.

For my background I went to my go to thing to do which is use Distress Inks. I pulled a couple pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolour Paper and first I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the sky and then used Mustard Seed and Fossilised Amber for the Sand. I then flicked some water onto the sandy piece to give it some more texture and then for the sky background, I took my favourite stencil from Tim Holtz, the Rays stencil and placed it over top of my sky background. I then sprayed a ton of water over top of the stencil. I left it there for a little while and then pressed a cloth over top to mop up the water. When I pulled up the stencil it revealed a bleached look, I really like how it turned out.

Now all my elements were done I could adhered my card together. I adhered my sky and sand pieces together using tape adhesive and then used foam tape to adhere my frame on. I then also used foam tape to adhere all the kids in a line on my card as well. I used the 'Sending You Sunshine' sentiment from the Summer Friends stamp set and stamped it into the middle of my card with black ink.

To finish up I added Clear Droplets around my card and adhered my panel to a card base.

The video is linked down below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, the next person on the hop is the fabulous Christy Reuling and don't forget to comment to be entered to win the prizes!
